    Halloween party weekend

It looks like a crappy weather weekend for my annual Halloween party. However, my guests still want to come. So, Ed and I will spend tomorrow consolidating the hangar and the pole barn to get as much open indoor space as possible. Right now, the rsvps stand at 167 people. I am sure some will chicken out if it is wet.

Every year, we toss 5,000 black and orange, toy-fill, plastic Halloween eggs out onto the half mile long airstrip. After dark, everyone grabs flashlights and heads out to find eggs. The south end of the airstrip is a "scare-free" zone and the very middle is roped off for very small children and people with disabilities. It is the north end that gets fun! I have my scare crew ready to go with noise makers, creepy things on strings and more. My dad gets all excited to chase people with his hockey mask and chain-less saw!

These buggers can be hard enough to find in the daytime,...

Cool. Sounds like one heck of a Halloween party.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

On Saturday, our weather went from a sunny morning, to rain, to sleet, to hail, and then to snow. But the Good Lord blessed me with a two hour window Saturday night without anything icky falling from the sky. The grass was wet and it was chilly out, but that was so much better than rain or snow. I still haven't counted exactly how many guests we had, but you can get an idea from a couple photos. When I took the inside pix, there were still people out looking for eggs yet. Now, as soon as I finish the puzzle, I can start refilling eggs for next year.
