One of the best sword fights ever committed to film between Tyrone Power and Basil Rathbone

yeah, one of the best. Ties for me with the fight scene from Adventures of Robin Hood.

I DVRed it! I hate to admit it, but I haven't seen this film since I was a kid. For one reason or another, we've never reconnected.

Useless comic trivia most of you already know: Beginning with The Dark Knight Returns, this is the version of Zorro that young Bruce Wayne saw the night his parents were murdered.

^^ totally agree Thunderbolt. Flynn and Rathbones is sprawling, all over the castle, while Power and Rathbone is confined to a room. Both fights make great use of the settings.

Gene Kelly's version of the three Musketeers also has some great swordplay.

I always liked that Miller connected the dots between Batman and Zorro.

A favorite of mine--not as lush as Robin Hood, but Tyrone Power is so good in the "dual" role of Don Diego & Zorro. The big fight scene seems surprisingly brutal & immediate in this film. If anything, the movie needs more Zorro--it's def. a smaller, less expensive film than Robin Hood.

a great sword fight, i read a interview once where both tyrone power and flynn said basil rathbone both the loser in the sword fights was actually the best swords man in hollywood.
