    I almost never existed.
At the very end of WWII, my grandfather and father were about to be executed by the Germans (the machine gun was litterally pointed at them from one of those open top vehicles) when the Resistance gunned down the German Officer and went after the rest of the german soldiers who drove off.
My Grandfather was kind of a Robin Hood during WWII. He raided places which held large quantities of potatoes, butter, dried meat, and distributed those in his village. He never carried a real weapon, only a pitchfork, and he had a real short fuse!

Shocking? No, how about quirky things about me:

    • I've seen a UFO, though I doubt it was aliens.
    • After my mom died, weird things happened at my house, and only stopped when the family vocally requested it to stop from my mom.
    • Out of high school I was accepted to Harvard, but rejected from Yale. Ended up attending Boston University for a while due to financial scholarships as a Poli-Sci major/Pre-Law, withdrew and went to art school, received a degree in computer animation, but I work in an hospital emergency room.
    • Although I am a huge Superman fan and collect anything and everything under the sun, it was only due to not getting the Batman and Robin toys I wanted as a child.
    • I run 5Ks as a 37 year old, but back in high school when I was at my fittest, I couldn't complete the mile run without collapsing at the finish and requiring medical attention.
    • My playlist on my iPod include but not limited to: Kanye West, Abba, Led Zeppelin, Daft Punk, Regina Spektor, Rush, Miley Cyrus, Kraftwerk, Tegan & Sara, and Eminem
    • I am and have been a registered Republican since I turned 18, but I generally classify myself as Libertarian. (I don't care how you live your life, and I don't want the Government involved in mine.)
    • All Stanley Kubrick movies give me a headache. There's something in the soundmix that all his movies have that by 30 mins into it, I have a migraine.
    • I'm sensitive to the barometric pressure. When it drops, I get a migraine. I can usually tell when the rain is coming or a cold front a few days ahead of time due to this.
    • I have been an extra in several BAD movies shot at my high school (Only The Strong, The Substitute, etc)
    • 2 years ago I was given 5 years to live without a transplant... and the doctors are amazed I seem to be getting stronger instead of weaker.
    • I'm the very first, first generation child in my whole family (both sides) to be born in the United States. Also first to graduate College
    • I'm allergic to Peanut Butter and raw peanuts, but not Planter's processed peanuts.
    • I have a photographic memory, but I'm dyslexic so that's a recipe for funtimes had by all.
    • The first movie I ever saw as a child was The Omen, followed immediately by the Exorcist... I was 3 or 4 at the time.
    • I used to have a recurring nightmare where Ed Begley Jr would break into my house and steal my KFC chicken dinner. I always woke up in a cold sweat... I don't even like KFC chicken dinners.
    • I once played volleyball with a coconut, which ended with my broken nose.
    • I have a scar on my forehead from the first time I ever got drunk. I was 1 year old, and my grandfather was teaching me to mix his whiskey and coke with a swizzle stick... which he taught me to suck on. Soccer was on TV and I was left unattended by my dad and grandfather. Next thing you know, I'm told I started to run around all wobbly and ran into a wall, which had an exposed nail. Instead of stitches, they wrapped my head in papertowels and masking tape and went back to watching the game. When my mom and grandma came home, I was told all hell broke loose.
    • The Supernatural doesn't scare me. Humans scare me.
    • I can't have children, but it work out well, since I have the mothering instinct of a cup of water.
    • I can build a computer, program it and make it all pretty, but ask me to refill the washer fluid in my car and I'm like, "wha?"
    • I took Calculus, college level Physics, college level Chemistry, and college level computer programming in the 11th grade. By my senior year, I had to take Home Ec, Guitar, Pottery and other easy classes just to fill my schedule since I had already taken the max level on all "academic" classes.
    • The night my mom died, I broke my right hand when I tried to cram it through a wall. Hit a stud. I couldn't hold a pencil for 6 months. To this day, if I draw continuously without a break or heating pad, my hand will cramp up to the point it becomes useless for several days.

I know there's more weirdness in me, but those are the few that just come to mind.

Dang, Tim. Hit by a train, shot by a hunter, and beat to near-death by a street gang. Well, now we know why you carry that shield!

I could write quite a list of truly shocking things. A few:

I've seen a man stabbed to death in front of me.

I've seen a man virtually incinerated, but still alive (dying, of course).

I've seen a kid who'd just blown his face off with a shotgun (and lived).

I've seen quite a few children die.

Now over to Judy with the weather!

    I hate mayonnaise
I hate drinking coffee but like the smell of it
    I hate pepperoni on pizza
I like superheroes but never really collected comics. My exposure to superheroes are mainly from TV and movies. Batman, Superman, etc. they would be my baseline and I guess when (for instance) the Batman in the comics I glanced at was not like the the Adam West Batman I did not feel the need to get them. They would also usually be in the middle of stories instead of having stand alone ones. Also, I liked getting TV/movie based comics. Not only Star Trek and Star Wars but Emergency, Adam 12, Six Million Dollar Man, Space:1999 etc.
I don't drink, hate beer and most other alcohol.

I lost both my parents within two weeks of each other when I was nineteen. ( as I get older I understand Batman more than ever, it never really goes away)

I check the Mego Museum forums everyday.

I'm more disgusted by mayonnaise than any other substance on the earth.

    I prefer Halloween over Christmas.

I was a really good racquetball player.

I like to draw but the ability is intermittent, I sometimes sit down to sketch and it doesn't work.

I enjoy playing golf by myself.

I like watching shows about Don Rickles.

Lots of interesting responses....let me see.....

    1) I received my black belt at the age of 13....quit to join boxing for a few years.....then took a brief 25 year hiatus and joined mma 2 years ago.
    2) There has never been one day in my life that I didn't think about mego's.
    3) I do an online magazine every month called "OLDTIMES" that I email ONLY to my brothers. It's based around our childhood mego's, features interviews with each others' toys, a poster and even old comicbook ads. I'm working on issue 22 right now with GI Joe on the cover.
    4) My favorite Chirstmas gift I ever got was my mego Muhammad Ali when I was in grade 10.....long story.
    5) I have never once in my life smoked a cigerette or done any drugs of any kind. Never once even tempted. I hope my kids are the same way.
    6) I am admittedly an old prude...old fashioned. I don't enjoy a lot of TV and movies these days due to sex content or swearing or poor taste.

Yes hit by a train. was late at night back in Jan of 1984, coming through a VA center in the middle of town and snowing the train came around a very shape bend, no crossing stops, rails, lights and the train had no front light, had loud headers on my jeep so I didn't hear it. Just saw a huge shadow to my left as my front tires went onto the tracks, hit the gas when I saw the shadow and the train hit me right in the rear quarter panel on the drivers side. Spun it right around. you'd think being an old CJ 5 it would have flipped but it didn't. Man I was sore for about 2 weeks after that but other than that walked away. Needless to say the jeep wasn't so lucky and was a complete wreck.
The getting shot was not as exciting, dangerous or adventurous as I mistakenly made it sound. Was shot at by mistake by a hunter with a shot gun several yards away. I did end up picking pellets out of my scalp, back and shoulders.
