    Input for Toy Business Logo

Hey all, looking for some input regarding a business logo- my toy biz. Mostly vintage stuff, but no discriminating against newer collectible stuff either- wanted to keep it as universal as possible, but has a touch of monster in it given that's my passion. I'd really appreciate any input, getting down to the final touches and then some work to do before officially launching. Thanks in advance!

    Looking for:
    • Lincoln Monsters (Any condition)
    • Boxed Mego Monsters
    • AHI Jigglers / Bendy Monsters (Carded and Loose)
    • ANYTHING Monster related

    Very cool !!!

Personally I like the black and white one best

Also - the dripping blood don't do anything for me on the color ones

V with the blood drip signifies a monster slant to me. If that's your specialization that's OK, otherwise I'd lose it. If you keep it, I think it looks better without the black outline.

The blood doesn't say vintage toys to me, and if it is a monster themed thing, then the blast, colors, and "toys" font don't work.
I like the 4th one best with a different color for the outer part of the blast.

The blue is too dark in the other two which obscure the lettering and the b&w is fine for b&w ads or whatever.
Expectation is the death of discovery.

I like the last one the best, the colors work better I think. If you're going for a monster look, you could extend that Y on toys and have some blood dripping from it as well.

The exploding look says "superheroes" not monsters, same could be said for the large "v". Also, Is v the first letter in your last name? If not, it's confusing and unmemorable. If its for vintage, I'd scrap that idea entirely as most people don't consider 70 s and 80 s toys vintage. Only trying to offer some constructive criticism. If monsters are the theme, why not something like "toy crypt" or something in that vein.

They are all awesome, you are an excellent designer.

My preference is the second from the top, the yellow explosion with the blue-colored fonts, it screams comic books, but drop the dripping blood, like others said, it screams horror, unless that's the direction you wanna go.

I like the 4th one ( Blue/Black ) I think it might work better without the blood. With the Blood the V kind of looks like it stands for Vampire Toys.

I like the 4th one the best (bottom right), but if your focus is going to be on all types of toys, like others have said, I would avoid the blood unless the horror stuff is going to be the major focus. Good symmetry on the logo and the "less is more" approach really works on making the logo work and not detract from anything it would be placed with ona page.
                  It's all good!

Hey all, really appreciate the comments so far- I've been staying pretty tight lipped for the most part when asking people just to see the general consensus. I had some hesitation to add the blood, and originally did not have the V in a 'fang shape' - those were the monster lover in me coming out a bit, but I wanted to mix the logo up a bit with the superhero element to the monster stuff, to show variety in specialties. As far as the "V" goes, it's the first letter of my last name and it's been primarily a family business- so it's a bit of a 'tribute' to the people who influenced the toy lover in me, I figured can be easily assumed that it's 'vintage' (which is a fairly loose definition in itself based on who you ask... "come check out my vintage 1995 Power of the Force Figures!").

Next round is below. A bit of info: The blood has a bit of a slogan tie-in to the business that I think rounds things out a bit more, obviously still puts an emphasis on 'horror' but has a good creative tie. I will most likely do a bloody and a non-bloody version to at least cater to the audience a bit. Any input on these is appreciated from a color perspective- I will disclose all of my ideas here and the 'why' behind everything soon, I just don't want to take the focus away from the design piece quite yet. I really appreciate the input.

looking at it I never put two and two together and came to the conclusion the V was a fang

I thought it was more of a weird shaped knife or sword

Unless somebody told me I would never have thought of it as a fang

Interesting, okay- I really appreciate input like that, it's all a matter of perspective, that's why outside input makes me more comfortable than me saying 'Here! You will like this!" =-)

I like the Black background with the blue burst outline (forth one of the original set). The one above it also works except that the blue clashes with that yellow for me. The bright yellow and dark blue are fighting for my eye's attention. I think the blue should be a little lighter.

I agree with everyone else that I don't understand the blood drip. It doesn't work with the childlike font of "Toys." If you're committed to keeping the blood I would change the "Toys" font to a monster movie poster type of font.
