    Tom Clancy dies at 66

I read a number of his books. A great writer. Gone way too soon. RIP Mr. Clancy.

That's really coming outt'a left field. I know he's been writing for decades now but I wouldn't have expected him to pass so soon.

Wow, that is unexpected. Great author. I LOVE the Jack Ryan series. "Without Remorse" is one of my top 10 favorite books. RIP Mr. Clancy. You will be missed.

I was a huge fan of his work in the 80's and 90's, he captured the feel of the cold war like no one else.

They have been trying to get a "Without Remorse" movie off the ground for a few years now. This book is set in the 70's and is the origins of John Clark. Tom Hardy is the latest pegged to play the part. Jack Ryan appears briefly in the book, but it's when he is young and in the marines before the helicopter crash. Jack's dad is a Baltimore homicide detective and is one of the main characters. I'd love to see that movie get made. With Tom gone, it might not happen, but it would be a great tribute to him.
