    Prisoners - new Jackman movie

The new Hugh Jackman movie Prisioners literally blows. If you see the movie, you'll get the joke.

That being said the movie starts off pretty OK but spirals into unbelievability. It's a total joke that this movie is being mentioned as a contender for an award.

Is it another Swordfish scene? I still cannot unsee that all these years later....

Prisoners looked horrific in the trailers and it was attached to almost every movie I saw in the theaters from August on. The more I saw it, the more I knew what a turd it was going to be and the preview gives away everything. The award it will most likely get is a Razzie. Is it me or does Hugh Jackman loose most of his charisma in movies where he's not playing Wolverine?

The trailer doesn't give everything away because the screenwriter(s) threw in the kitchen sink. It's a sort of a hack'stake on Hitchcock with a dose of EC Crime comics thrown in for good measure. But really that's an insult to hacks.

The movie tries so very hard to be good, but the drama unintentionally moves into campiness in a clumsy series of events. Jackman and Gyllenhaal's performances are overwrought for how gimmicky the movie ends up being.

The movie doesn't know if it wants to be a searing drama, a slick hitchcockian thriller or even an ironic crime story where folks get what the deserve. It's a mess of loose ends that becomes unintenionally laughable at the climax. It's a plot that shows like Criminal Minds, would touch with a 10-foot pole.

And again the film literally blows at the end, and figuratively throughout its running time.
