Um I don't wanna be the one to point out the obvious here but.... If it's a religious question because of the whole birth control thing...isn't getting a vesectemy a form of birth control? Just thought I'd throw that out there.

God's gotta know we all gotta do what we gotta do.
If not, perhaps he should stop flipping the bills on REAL LIFE issues.

He did say his wife was Religiously Catholic not him but at the end of the day it's just sawing sawdust.
Show me a Catholic family that professes not to use birth control with just two kids and I'll show you a liar.
I'm Catholic and have the procedure and have many friends who also practice Catholicism who have had the procedure. It's just one of those issues where I disagree with the church.
Anyway, good luck with it. One piece of advice given to me that helped a lot aside from the ice is to wear an athletic cup for a few days.

Not neccesarily, women on my father's family have a history of being almost infertile, resulting in piles of only children and years of trying for a second.

LOL - yeah I guess, but then the argument could be made he's wearing the birth control device (i.e. condum) and since he's not the religious one, what does it matter
But what do I know, I've been celibate the last 43 years. Just get out the hose and turn on the water!
Hey,
This is the reason I keep coming back to this group - lots of laughs and a great bunch of guys (and gals - yes, I know you are out there as well!!).
Thr procedure took all of 12 minutes - got the no scapel vasectomy so there wasn't even any sutures used. Gotta say, being grabbed clinically by another man is a very unusual feeling, one which I don't have any desire to experience again. The doctor that did the procedure has done over 8,000 vasescomies in his career - I guess after the first 100, there all just the same.
(Enter your own pun/joke here).
Anyway, my wife is American Catholic - meaning she is devout and believes the doctrines of the church - unless, of course, she disagrees with something. So for her, birth control and the big A are a persons own choice, but she believes in all the rest (Don't ask - I've been married to her for 10 years and I still have no idea how she can live in that paradox. She is a woman, so she gets to make the rules. Those who are married will understand that statement in a big way).
We have three wonderful children (the first while she was on birth control, so you see why I say she is biologically catholic), and I wouldn't trade any of them for all the Mego's in China (or Hong Kong, as it were). However, financially I am at my limit of what I can do and still give my children the life they deserve, so this was the way. My wife had all three naturally, no drugs or anything, and I would not ask her to get her tubes tied - that procedure has many more possible complications. In my opinion, it was my responsibility to step up and do what was needed. A couple of days of discomfort is nothing compared to what she would have had to go through.
Nothing will change in my life - once I have recovered, we will get back to the normal routine - I ask for 'companionship' every day and get it every week (insert your second pun/joke here).
Seriously, thanks for making me laugh (although, right now, it does hurt just a bit to do so), and thanks for your thoghts.
