    Wii Suggestions?

Hey folks, I just picked up a Wii over the weekend and I'm looking for some cool games to play. Any suggestions on fun games? I haven't owned anything since the original PlayStation, but the games I liked for that were:
    Twisted Metal II
Tomb Raider I, II, and III
    Risk
    Resident Evil 2
    Diablo
    Soul Blade

I'm looking for games kind of like these, but at $50 a pop, I don't want to whiff on a crap fest. I've been playing the sports games that came with the system and I picked up the Wii Play games with the extra controller. Still, I'll want to move on to something a little more advanced in the near future.

My suggestion from past experience is hit the local blockbuster and rent stuff and see what you like and then go buy it. We've got some games that we'll probably never play again.

I just played Carnival Games. I liked it a lot but it's better as a group game with four players. Have you looked at game fly? Some of my kids room mates said that was pretty good and they get to switch up the games every so often. I guess it's kinda like Netflix but for games. Don't know what they have for Wii though, the kids have the Playstation at college.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

If you liked Resident Evil 2 I would suggest you try Resident Evil 4 or The Umbrella Chronicles. The Umbrella Chronicles was designed specifically for the Wii console and I had a lot of fun playing it.

            Hey Donkey,

If you don't mind my asking, where did you get your Wii? Everywhere I've looked in my area (central KY) they are clean out.

              Where I got the Wii

Hey, sometimes it pays to ask the dumb questions.

I got mine at Target. I'd been looking for a while at Target, Walmart, Best Buy, etc. and got sick of seeing them always sold out. We were at Target on Sunday at about 1:00 and I figured, what the heck, I'll get on the waiting list.

So, I went to the electronics desk and asked them how long their waiting list was for the Wii. I was informed that they didn't have a waiting list, but they give out 5 tickets for the week (don't know if they give them out on Saturday or Sunday), it's first come, first served, I believe. In any case, if someone doesn't claim their ticket by noon on Sunday, they'll sell that Wii to whomever. It's behind the desk. So, the guy asked me if I wanted to buy it and I did, with no hesitation.

I'd suggest going to Target on Sunday at about 12:15 and just asking. If they don't have a Wii, ask them when they distribute tickets and what the process is for that.

              Hope this helps!

I've been lucky enough to find three in my area, all of which were at Wal-Mart. It's amazing that the Wii console still isn't readily available at retail yet considering how long it's been out.

That really is surprising to me too. We bought the Wii for Christmas 2006 and was shocked to hear that you still can't find the system anywhere.

                      Thanks Donkey!

Yeah guys, you can't find a Wii around here ANYWHERE. I'd really like to get one for my family. I think we'd all enjoy it.

I'll check back at Target. Thanks again!

I got mine in a similar fashion at Target. I looked without luck for three weeks before Christmas and then on New Years Eve I innocently asked how they distributed their Wii's, and when might they have some in stock. The guy said he had one in the back, asked if I wanted it, and I jumped all over it. I knew if the wife didn't like it I could flip it on eBay for an immediate $100 profit.

I've been waiting on a game that is supposedly one of the best first person mature type games for the Wii called "No More Heroes". It is among the highest rated non Mario type games on most forums. If I ever settle the dispute I have with a crappy non responsive eBay seller who obviously oversold a pre-order, then I'll finally grab it. Looks like fun.

I'm also tempted by what seems like the exact opposite of most games, "Endless Ocean", where you explore the sea from a Scuba Diver perspective with very few goals and no chance of "losing". Sort of a relaxing anti-game.

I am already convinced I am going to be grabbing the Wii Fit when it comes out. I've already lost weight playing the Wii, and sadly its the most exercise I've gotten in a long time.

Best Games IMO for family or friends:
                          Mario/Sonic OLympics
                          Wii Sports
Best shooter 2 person is Ghost squad...loads a gun fun
Medal of honour and Call of duty are great and add a whole new dimension to the genre by the control methods
Guitar hero is great fun too
Blazing Angels and Heatseeker are good flying games
Smooth Moves is fast and furious
                          Tiger Woods is good
ENGLISH AND DAMN PROUD OF IT British by birth....English by the grace of God. Yes Jamie...it is big isn't it....
