I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.
If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand. -

comic book day a the drug store. Used to be Fridays after school. It was great not knowing what would be there. Maybe the FF or maybe a 100 page Detective. Ahh, the preinternet days. You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

In a word: Everything! And you know what, that's why I actually appreciate the instantaneousness (just made that up) of OnDemand and the internet, and my iPhone, etc. etc. etc. It was a drag waiting for stuff, and now my lazy butt doesn't have to!Comment

Yeah, I was gonna add that, Mikey. Before everyone had a microwave (or a Radar Range, remember that?), you had to wait for TV dinners, baked potatoes, baby bottles...and yeah, I put Jell-o (and I'll include pudding) in my opening post, b/c for me it was really hard waiting all that time for the Jell-o or egg custard to set. I can still hear my mom: "If you open that refrigerator one more time, you won't get any!" How I miss those days. *sigh*

Christmas, Birthdays etc. That's when I would get "Bigger" items like like Star Wars ships and playsets. During the year it was strictly the action figures. Also eagerly anticipated any visit to my Grandparents house in NY. Even though we went at least once a month it seemed like forever between visits as a kid. As a bonus I'd go to the convenience store across the street and pick up a new comic or two or wrestling magazines for the month. For the longest time that visit also meant picking up the newest Amazing Spider-Man which was cool. I also eagerly waited for the Star Wars mail ins when I'd my proofs of purchase. Still remember my Mom picking me up at school and bringing the brown mailer box with her as she knew how I'd been dying for it to arrive.Comment

The ice cream man to finally roll up in front of my house.
My older sisters to get off the phone (that was connected on the wall) so that I could use it.
The 5 o'clock news.
The Camelot 3000 comics that took like 3 years to get all 12 issues to the news stands.
Nice thread, this is why I believe life is now flying by. Because we don't have to wait for anything anymore!Comment

The first thing I ordered from the US (SW Jawa Kenner), it took three months to come here by boat.
Star Wars was released here six months after the US release. The agony!
They only sold SMDM items in Holland. We went there once a year, and I could pick one figure or playset per visit. My birthday was during that visit, but I couldn't play with it yet. I then had to wait for my brother and sister to return from their vacations (three weeks later), before I was allowed to open them, when we celebrated my birthday with them. When that day came (a few days before the new school year), they never bothered to come to my "party". Siblings are great!.
