I just watched the new one...

Forester was great, I was not expecting a new character to feature so prominently in the second last episode, so when he first showed up I assumed it would just be a smaller part, but I'm glad they got to use him more than I was expecting. This show is always coming up with something to defy my expectations, and this episode was more of a slow burn, but it certainly threw me for a loop again.

After everything Walt's been through he still doesn't seem to understand how loyalty works. When he asked about the money in the barrel I kinda heard an echo of Hank's last words in my head: "you're the smartest guy in the world, you can't figure out that this dude is just here for your cash?"

What's the deal with Saul taking a powder?! I mean, seriously! What's the deal?! Is the spinoff "Better Call Saul" going to be about Saul named Dave and managing a Dunkin Donuts in Wisconsin (or whatever he said)?!! I always guessed that if Saul got killed "Better Call Saul" would take place before he met Walt - but this was a nutty turn of events. Maybe whatever Hank ends up doing will allow Saul to return to his business?

The cast of Breaking Bad tonight on Conan.

Actually the entire hour is devoted to Breaking Bad.

Los Cuates de Sinaloa are the musical guests, as they have provided tracks for the show...

I think the casting of the entire show is great.

Wow Donkey! You hit the nail on the head with the Ricin and Lydia! That is exactly right!

I love Robert Forster too, his upper midwest accent and no-nonsense way about him is exactly what that character needs. Although the amount of trust you would have in someone like that is not believable to me. (Why not just shoot Walt/other 'runners' and take the money? They disappeared anyways, and he puts them in places where they wouldn't be found) There is no trust among thieves.

As I said, It will be a long week thinking about how this will turn out!

Robert Forster is so underrated as a performer, he was perfect for that character.

While watching last night's episodes, I had the same sense that there wasn't enough meat on the bones. But, after it was over, and I added up all the small moments, I realized I was mistaken.

    1. Watching Walt try to bully Saul in the basement, only to be racked by coughing fits and rendered completely impotent. It was essentially the entire series in one scene.
    2. Thinking I may have uncovered the ricin plan after seeing Lydia in the same cafe with Todd that she used to use with Walt. She said she'll need a packet of Stevia for her tea. That ricin looks an awful lot like it could be an artificial sweetener, does it not? I think Walt has a packet of Stevia for her in the near future.
    3. Hearing the vacuum cleaner guy say, "A couple of kings" while they're playing poker. There have been numerous chess references lately in the show, and I think this might be another one, even though it comes in the context of a card game. The king can only move one space, much like Walt is confined to one space right now while the game continues on all around him.
    4. Hearing Walt tell Flynn, "It can't all be for nothing," even though he already knows that it has been.
    5. Realizing I could go on and on and on about all these little moments that were framed by the one big moment of Andrea getting shot. A big moment that I really didn't see coming.

This last run of episodes has been nothing short of outstanding. Somewhere along the way, I forgot that this wasn't just a drama, it's also a tragedy. Everything has fallen apart here at the end and we only have one more episode to find out where all the pieces lay when it's done. Can't wait.

I did not see that coming. Then again, I rarely see anything coming with this show...I'm really going to miss that.
