Both premiered today. 1966 for Star Trek and 1973 for Star Trek animated which makes it TAS's 40'th anniversary.

I think animated trek is still under appreciated by a lot of fans. Next to TOS, it is one of my favorite series in the franchise.
    It's all good!

      ^I would have never guessed.

Seriously, I agree. It really does capture the spirit of the show, despite the limited animation. The character designs are pretty much dead-on, especially Kirk and McCoy. And the stories definitely have that TOS feel...since they are mostly by TOS writers!

Happy Birthday original and cartoon Trek! I was 2 months old when the original premiered, and 7 when the cartoon premiered. But I didn't watch the cartoon til I was 11 and it was in reruns. But the classic was always on at my house on Sunday nights.

            Great memories of 'em!!

I remembered my brother and I have been watched Star Trek TOS TV series and Animations often since he and I was kid.

I've not seen Animation Star Trek TOS for a very long time, never showing up on Comcast Cable TV... what happen to it?

I'm almost as old as Star Trek. I was born on October 5, 1966.
