Both have some really great original programing, I just recently started watching Showtime and I have to say Homeland & Ray Donavan are great.

Looking at the networks top shows, HBO has Game of Thrones. Showtime has Dexter. Dexter is ending, GOT is not.
Boardwalk Empire is awesome. Veep is actually pretty funny too.
Showtime's Homeland is pretty good. HBO has Newsroom.
In the past HBO has also put up some great shows like Deadwood, Six Feet Under, Sopranos and Entourage. Tru-Blood was good up to a point too so all thing considered, I gotta give it to HBO."Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day I can tell you."Comment

Um, no. I don't watch any of these shows on the actual network they air on. Screw paying extra for premium cables. Actually screw paying for cable. If I didn't watch baseball, hockey, and football, I wouldn't even have a cable provider. The day professional sports starts streaming in-market games on the net is the day I cut the cord all together."Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day I can tell you."Comment

I dropped HBO this week since True Blood had its finale. When Dexter and Ray Donovan's over, I'll flip back to HBO and catch up on Boardwalk Empire on on Demand and probably keep it until Donovan comes back next summer on Showtime. I'll watch Homeland then On Demand. I've been flip flopping between the two for several years only doubling up in the summer when I have more time. It saves me a little money, but I still get to see the shows I like, just a little late sometimes.Last edited by madmarva; Aug 20, '13, 5:56 PM.Comment
