HOLY COW!! Frute Brute and Yummy Mummy are back!

    ilpi.jpg

General Mills is reissuing both cereals this Halloween along with the original three!

Frute Brute is going to be cherry flavored, while Yummy Mummy is orange cream. YUM!

Wish I could share your enthusiasm, but I don't like sugary cereals...I love plain Corn Flakes, Wheaties, and Cheerios...I love to add fruits such as bananas, blue berries, strawberries, sliced peaches, and such.

But still very cool for the kiddies, and great stuff for Halloween.

It's mostly a nostalgia thing...there's nothing like popping some classic cartoons into the old DVD player with a big bowl of Cocoa Puffs on a Saturday morning!

          That's true.

As a kid, my favorite cereal was Honeycomb, can't get sweeter than that, lol.

But over the years, I started liking the plainer ones, and the extra sweetness I'd get by adding fruits.

But yeah, I get what you are saying, nostalgia ia great, that's why we are all here.

Besides, I'm a hypocrite, because I do like sweets, ice cream, snow cones, cakes, cookies, etc, lol.

Super! I still have one box of Count Chocula stashed from last Halloween. (hasn't been opened yet!). I never ate Fruit Brute or Yummy Mummy, but cherry and orange cream? I'm there!

Neat! Thank you for posting this.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Which means they're going to taste even less like their respective original cereals than CHOC, FRANKEN B or BOO BERRY already do. But, yes, I do agree the nostalgia of it is worth the move.

An improvement for Fruit Brute (originally lime flavored marshmallows) but not so much for Yummy Mummy (Originally vanilla flavored marshmallows)

I was excited two days ago when I first heard this but now I'm somewhat disappointed after reading that they're tinkering with the flavors and seeing
the horrible redesigns of the characters....

It would be cool if they issued retro boxes too. I was never a fan of either, but I know we ate fruit brute at least once, because there is a FB glow in the dark sticker still on the light switch plate to the basement in my mom's house!

These must have not been released in my area, as I have never heard of these. I will have to try them out for sure.

Funny I was just watching Pulp Fiction (on AMC right now) and the Eric Stoltz character(the drug dealer that Vincent Vega was taking Mia to after the drug overdose) was eating cereal and the box in the background was Frute Brute.
