The classic A&W. They went away in my part of Oregon for quite a few years and when they returned is was the name only, different style all together. I remember hardee when I lived in Montana back in the 80s and 90s out here in Oregon they are called Carls Jr.

I didn't realize Red Barn was a franchise. I used to go to one in upstate NY and it was the only one I ever saw.

Has anybody mentioned Little Black Sambo's that turned into Little Sambo's and then just Sambo's? We used to go there when I was a little boy. Their logo was a little black boy with a tiger. Pancake house style place.

Long John silvers has that awesome batter! So unhealthy but delicious. I remember having a birthday party at Showbiz Pizza. I thought it was awesome. The robotic animals struck me as slightly creepy though.

Minute Man hamburgers is a place I remember from my childhood as well as Red Barn, whose location In my hometown is now a bait shop.

I remember when Shoney's Big Boy had a drive in. My brother always liked ordering a Big Girl with nothing on it and then driving off. I don't know of a Shoney's still open in my region.

Dairy Queen's are difficult to find, too.

A&W is going strong in Canada these days (owned by a different company than the US chain). I love their Chubby Chicken burgers.
