Talking with my brother the other day and the topic of our toys came up.Stompers, matchboxes, penny racers ,legos ,lincoln logs, and what childhood would be complete without megos. It seems kids now days don't have the hands on action type toys that we grew up.Just wondering what some other favs of yours were while growing up.The ATARI we use to play was another great thing. How screwed up would we have been playing World of Warcraft at 10 and 12 years old instead of pacman!

Since I'm a girl, I did have mostly dolls, and that was cool, 'cos I liked dolls, still do. But I also had Derry Daring and cycle, Marx's Safari Adventure Kim, Matchbox cars, a Citgo Gas station mini SSP Laker Special, A Marx action sounds Tommy gun, (my mom hated that loud thing!), cap guns from my older brothers, 2 black Action Jacksons, a Big Jack (from Big Jim), Lincoln Logs, (that I really didn't play w/ 'cos I never was much on building), standard and talking view-masters, Easy Bake Oven, board games like Stay Alive and Superstition, Colorforms, (Barbie and Hulk), and record players and lotsa kiddie records."Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true." -

Hot Wheels, Matchbox, pocket racers, and tons of hot wheels track system. Then I moved on to 80's GI Joe (biggest line of my childhood) Star Wars, a few Transformers, a couple Go Bots, M.A.S.K., He-Man, the Real Ghost Busters, Marshall Bravestar, Legos, Atari 2600, Nintendo, and just a few Mego items, I had one super powers figure and one Secret wars figure.
I have items from each line in my collection now, except Marshall Bravestar or Real Ghost Busters.Comment

I had a helicopter on wire toy but not sure if it's the same as yours. There was a control and the helicopter flew in a circle. You could make it fly high, low, hover. I think you could even make it pick up something. I forget. Anyway, it didn't last too long after Christmas. My younger brother with a disability knock it out in mid-air.I loved that toy.

My favorite toys while growing up were definitely my mego WGSH, Star Wars, Six Million Dollar Man, Evel Kneivel, Fisher Price Adventure People, Fisher Price Little People playsets, Secret Wars, GI Joe (70s and 80s), Matchbox & Hot Wheels cars (Criss Cross Crash!), Weebles....y'know, the usual
I also can't forget the amount of great playtime I got in with some of the "cheaper" toys....stuff like Presto Magix, green plastic army men, AHI rack toys (the superhero parachute figures, etc.), Silly Putty, Colorforms sets, Playmobil, Metal Men.......Comment
