I never learned properly, So i learned my way, I don't have to look at the key board. I know where all the letters are and type pretty fast.

Like a few others here, this is how I type also. We had a TRS-80 in our house in 1981-2, when I was in 5th grade. In 1984, we bought two Apple IICs, one for my Dad's business use, and one for us kids. I just learned typing by doing. By the time tenth grade and typing class came along, there was no way they were going to teach me another method. Now days, kids have keyboarding class in 1st grade so they learn the correct method at a young age.

You only need two fingers to get through life, so that's how I type as well.

That's good idea, I'll try that as well. BTW, I forgot to edit my post, I can typing fast with 2 finger.

I use my keyboard! I tried a frying pan, an ironing board, three forty-pound bags of manure and a bowl of pudding and none of them worked as well as the keyboard...!!!

Took typing in High School and it did nothing for me but today I type like a pro which I guess just happened over time. I do write/type a lot. The first time I noticed how proficient I was getting at it was few years ago and it reminded me of that Simpsons episode when Bart went to France and couldn't speak a word of French at first but then started speaking French fluently.

I'm pretty fast, almost as fast as my brain. Learned way back in grade school and used it all through reception jobs, etc. I blame the early learning on a computer game much like missle command where you had to type the falling words before they hit the city. {:P Learning is fun!

Problem is, I'm a bit dyslexic with letters (which no amount of training can erase), but I know it immediately and hit backspace.

So it's type type type backspace type backspace type type backspace type type type type backspace backspace type ERGH!!

I'd be alot quicker if not for the backwards boo-boos.

I'm not exactly hunt and peck, although I do look at my fingers. I usually use 2 fingers on my right, and 3 fingers on my left to type.

In honor of this post I took a typing test so I didn't falsify any claims. Lower than expected =( 5 or 6 years ago I could pretty accurately type 120ish wpm, but obviously my old age is getting to me.

I pretty much have my own way after using a keyboard for 25+ years now. I never took typing in school so I just progressed with each job I had. Most of my typing is commands and not full sentences.
