Saturday Mornings: CBS "In The News"

Someone may have posted about this in the past, but, if they did, I couldn't find it.

Anyhow, this crossed my mind. I'm sure many others will remember these segments, as well.

In The News (with Christopher Glenn): (Commercial, etc. included)

    1980

    1979

    1976

    1980 (another)

    1985

Always loved the 'In the News' segments as a kid. Thanks for posting these - good memories of my brother and I getting to sleep on the basement family room couches Friday nights so we could wake up Sat morning to watch cartoons.

Yep, I remember In The News on CBS. I remember one time instead of Chris Glenn, Josie and Alan of Josie and the Pussycats narrated. I think it had to do w/ a bakery or candy company or something.

It's one of those "flashback" moments. "In The News" may not have crossed your mind in years, but when you see it again, all of your memories of it and the ones that surround it come rushing back to the front of your mind.

By the way, according to Wikipedia, "In The News" ran for 15 seasons, from 1971 to 1986. It evolved from something that CBS had done, briefly, prior to "In The News" called "In The Know", which was presented by Josie and the ***** Cats.

Bus Problems; 600 Grumman busses pulled for being lemons. It figures. I remember this.

My wife is from NYC, and she said that she remembers those buses, as well. It sounds like that was a real mess, back in December of 1980.
