Things of yesterday but not today

Feel free to add or discuss
I was born in the 60's but still seen these things.
    Today they're long gone.

    Milk men ....
Yep, we used to have a milk man bring milk to our house

    Ice house .....
We had a town ice house which sold huge blocks of ice.

    Outhouse ....
We had indoor plumbing, but we also had an old outhouse.

    A-Treat soda outlet ....

I was born in 76 and we certainly had a rotary phone till I was nearly grown. Took five minutes to dial someone and when it rang it gave you a heart attack! I too remember rusty metal playground equipment, never knew it should look any other way. Don't remember milkmen or block ice thought my grandparents who lived in Sheffield Alabama had both. My granddad still referred to the fridge as the "icebox". But I always thought their talks about these things as cool and nostalgic. My 18 year old thinks I'm the dumbest man she knows with an M.A.!

Holy cow I forgot to bring up quality stamps! My mom got me a General Lee at the quality stamps store and I bet I put 100000 miles on that toy. Man, good times.

A little more modern but still worthy of note... buttons on cellphones.

                      Back to the olden days...
Bench style front seats in vehicles
"Must see TV" - you can either DVR everything or just buy the seasons on DVD / Blu-ray ... no longer is it lost in the ether or buried in the vault
Local Disc Jockey's on the radio (this may actually be coming back)
The mystery of KISS without makeup

came in glass bottles with two rings at the top to pick up the bottle. You could get other flavors besides orange. We were surrounded by dairy, poultry, pork and corn, so those were things you could get fresh.

Sewing machines with all metal gears instead of plastic or nylon junk.

Mr. Softee ice cream that TASTED like chocolate or vanilla, instead of the blah flavor of today.

Ice cream from above vendor for 25 cents. Right now it's $2.00 and climbing.

Saturday morning cartoons that were entertaining as heck, even with all of the explosions.

Woolworth's instead of Walmart, or Kmart.

                            Subway tokens.

                            Half dollars.
