    Cereal Packets

Did you ever collect tokens from the backs of Cereal Packets ??
I was a club member of the Weetabix Club, I got stickers, pin badges and a membership club card.

I also collected tokens off of Crisps packets and got a Fryer Tuck statue (which I still have) It took forever to be sent to me in the post and on the packets it looked as if it was about 12 inches tall, but it was less than 2inches
I was also a club member to the Dennis The Menace Club, I think I still have the pin badges.

All we had in cereal was cheap toys you begged your mom to buy.

Think B.A. Where did you hide the Megos?

Did the Weetabix Club make the Doctor Who U.N.I.T. pin back in the 70's ?

              That thing was neat.

                U.N.I.T. ??

I don't know, you'd have to ask Bo8a Fett on that one.
I did find this about U.N.I.T. though

This is another topic that kills me as I have no vintage cereal toys in my collection

It sure would be nice to have those important pieces in my possession

                  Monster cereals---Cap'n Crunch---Lucky Charms----Fruit Loops---Sugar Smacks---
man, it'd be great to have some that stuff from the mid to late 70s!

I used to collect cereal toys when I was a kid. I can just see you liking Dennis the Menace Monkey Tennis :D (I do too). We have Weetbix here but all they ever had was boring cards. Some cereal toys command quite a good price these days, I looked back at them on Ebay about a year ago and decided I had better not go there since my toy collection is bulging at the seams.

                      Hmmmm....

Never collected the tokens or proof of purchase thingies... but I DID collect a set of cards off the old Voortman pasteries boxes. They had this strange, vaguely Moebius-looking seires on their boxes back in the late 70's. The story was a lot like Battlestar Galactica and you could get cards and cutout models of the ships and characters. Wish I still had 'em. Actually; I wish I remembered more than what I just wrote about them! I wish even more there was a website that had all of them on it....

                      *sigh* Now I'm depressed.

I once found a Rice Crispy box from the 50's. It was still full but had no toy. It did have a cool fishing game on the back. The back panel looked like a fishing pond and the were some fish to cut out. The instructions were th best part. It said to take a sharp steak knife and punch holes in the fish, then to take a sewing needle and bend it like a fish hook and tie it to some thread. Use the thread and hook to try and grab the fish through the holes you cut out.

No where did it read to get a parent to help, etc.

"Come on kids, stab a steak knife through your hand before hoking a sewing needle through your eye!!!" Sounded likes hours of fun!!!

The toy safety group would have a coronary if this came out today.

I sold this box for around $200.
