Anyone from the bay area going to SF Wonder Con this weekend? I'm going tomorrow (Friday) only. Haven't been to this one in years so hopefully it's gotten a little better.

In all the years I've lived here, I've never been to Wonder Con. Hopefully, I'll be able to have some time to go during one of three days. Rain and wind is expected for Saturday and Sunday. It's going to be busy and crowded on Saturday during the Chinese New Year Parade.Comment

I went today expecting it to be the usual 30 minute walk through of not finding much...BUT it was actually far better than any Wonder Con I've been to in years. I was actually there for close to 4 hours. Lot more people selling stuff this year (still at over-inflated prices) but overall it was worth the 12.00 advance ticket purchase (it's 15.00 at the door).
There were some good deals though. I got alot of DC Direct figures for around 10.00 each. Also picked up the Sideshow 12" Palpatine/Emperor 2-Pack for a mere $50.00. It would have cost around 80.00 if I bought it through Sideshow themselves. There were some Mego's there. I did ask one guy about his loose Green Arrow that looked really nice for $85 but it was mostly repro parts so not worth that price. There was a very good mix of vintage and modern toys and a lot more comic dealers than in the past.
It was a nice pleasant convention. This was the first time I have gone since Comic-Con took over the production of Wonder-Con. I would say go for it even if it is rainy.Comment

WonderCon :: Parking
I think the parade is later in the day so if you go early you'll probably avoid the crowds.Comment
