        You are not alone!
It's a shame though. Too young!
My grandfather died at that age.

This reminds me of when John Ritter suddenly passed away at the age of 54 almost 10 years ago. RIP, 'Mr. Soprano'. They say he was actually in really good health.

dang, I really hoped for them to due a Soprano Reunion or at least revive the show...
It's weird how close you "feel" to a character when you watch 5, 6, 7 seasons of a show.
But that is a testament to his great acting - he made you feel what you were watching was reality.
Mike, i'd highly recommend you taking a month and watch every season...I ripped them to my iTunes library and got rid of my dvds or i would have just sent them to you.
Might be able to burn some dvds and you could watch em on your computer...

Sobering reminder to all of us to go to the Doctor's and Get a yearly Physical. 51 is way to damn young to die.

Well, aside from his weight, which I personally think is was not that bad, Gandolfini did hit that cocaine pretty hard in his younger years, that type of drug abuse can come back and bite you in the arse, he was sober for many years, but it can mess up your arteries in the long run, plus there could be a history of heart disease in his family as well. A defectice heart with an unknown sympton could be another issue (see John Ritter).

Many factos can lead to a fatal heart attack.

And yes, you'd be surprised how many people never even bother to get medical check ups at all.

                      Ah shoot. That's so sad.
I was really looking forward to new meaty roles he'd delve into after Tony Soprano. Really sad.

And the next time I watch Sopranos and he's suffering through the panic attacks that he thinks are heart attacks (on the show), it will make me even more sad. 51 is just far too young.

I saw him just last year on stage here in LA in a wonderful play, "God of Carnage," and boy, he was just so great with the other fine actors, such as Jeff Daniels. It was a four person piece in one set. I scored second row tickets on StubHub and impressed the wife. :-) Such a great performance! I also saw all The Sopranos episodes, as many else did. . . . ahhhhhhhhh, I'm hunting up some stuff about the play on YouTube. I found an interview from 2011.

                        aaaahhhh maaaaannnnn
