    RIP Slim Whitman

Slim Whitman, the high-pitched yodeling county music singer whose productive career spanned decades, died Wednesday, his son-in-law told CNN. He was 90.

It's always weird to hear about someone dying that you thought was dead 30 years ago.
    Fresh, not from concentrate.

I was thinking the same thing; what's Boxcar Willie's status?

He sold more records than Elvis & The Beatles COMBINED! (or so I've heard.)

He was a favorite of my friend's mother growing up. It seemed kind of odd, she was from Denmark....

Never had any of his albums but I still remember the Slim Whitman ads from TV when I was a child. I think those old Slim Whitman and Zamfir ads are going to be forever burned into my memory.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Wow, I put him up there on the DOA list with the likes of Conway Twitty, Boxcar Willie and Jim Reeves. I guess he was so thin he really slipped through the cracks. I'm glad you noticed so I can say this..

                  RIP Slim
