They're more drawn to Lego and building set characters but I don't blame them, Lego is the new Mego.

As for not wanting new trek toys, I actually liked the 3 inch Playmates line. I wish there was a classic trek line in that scale.
I bought some of the merch because i like the designs.
I didn't say there were no imaginative kids left. I'm talking mainstream compared to our era. Games like Call of Duty have scores of kids (and I mean kids, not teenagers) who never get up for hours because of this stuff. Even Legos have joined that circle. Times are different my friend. But like you, it doesn't mean I have to like it or accept it for myself or my own kids.

Yes, thank you! I get so tired and frustrated with this blame video games/kids don't play with toys anymore defeatist mentality. Kids may not always be interested in the same stuff we are but they still play with and collect traditional toys, dolls and action figures like crazy. Video games were huge part of the childhoods of 70s, 80s and 90s kids and it didn't destroy our imaginations and didn't stop us from wanting or playing with other toys.

I've also noticed people often wonder why the big toy companies don't cater to the adult collector like BBP, Zica and CTVT. Why would they want to sell 2000 figures to a very picky niche adult market when they can sell 100,000 toys to children in a fraction of the time. I think we tend to forget that we are very, very VERY tiny segment of the toy buying market.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Actually, from their perspective that is classic Trek now. I also would like to see it happen. Playmates used to have such good resemblances on their 1990's figures. Those 2009 figures just don't compare. I bought some too to switch the heads so Icould have a crew in regular uniforms.
