For those of you reeling from last night's shocking episode here's some links that may soften the blow.

We know last night's episode as, “The Rains of Castamere” but to readers who know the books last night was actually from a chapter in one of the books called The Red Wedding:

When I read the book, I was on vacation in Mexico, staring out at the shining sun and the bright blue skies... and then... bam... everything turned grey. I remember sitting in the beach chair for a long time, just stunned. And the worst part, my wife hadn't read the books (and I certainly didn't want to spoil it for her) so I had nobody to talk to about it.

I thought the show did a great job with the Red Wedding. Even knowing what was going to happen this time around, I thought the way they did it was very powerful. I really liked the way they mined the tension in those final moments where it looked like they were completed f-ed (uh oh, the music, the armor, the doors closing), but you still had a glimmer of hope... ah, Robb is alive. Cat is going to get them out of this. And then... it totally obliterates any last hope.

But you guys are lucky, at least you get to share this "kicked in the gut" feeling with the rest of the people out there watching... It's a little sick, but I know a lot of Game of Thrones fans like me have been quietly waiting for this chance to share our misery!

I was FAR MORE upset When Crixis Got Be-Headed In Spartacus.
... I almost didn't watch the Remainder of the Season I was so ****ed.
I hadn't been that upset with Entertainment outside of Football for a very, very Long Time.

Now Rob is Not 1 of my Favs of the Show .... , So it didn't affect me so much.
I did Expect aton More outta Lady Starks Character..., rather than just to get Offed so quickly imo.

Now When Something Happens to Snow ..., The Dragon Lady ..., or Even the Hound..., I'll be a bit more Upset.

I was expecting 2 family reunions last night. Without spoiling it you who saw it knew there were 2 chances for family to come together again. But what happened last night was just down and dirty.

                Yikes! Just saw it!

I guess deciding to name her unborn kid Ned wasn't such a hot idea after all.

Even though I knew it was coming, it was still a shocking episode. I had to read that chapter in the book twice just to take it all in and I will watch the episode again tonight, just to take it all in again. I kept telling my wife (hasn't read the books) to get everything done before the show started because she wouldn't want to get up, and she didn't. She didn't see it coming at all.

The last time I saw my wife this shocked I had just surprised her with a ring. She just said "Life doesn't make any sense!"' so this might have had a slightly bigger emotional impact.

When did this happen? I've only seen Blood and Sand, Gods of the Arena, and Vengeance. I don't have cable, so three more months until the DVD release!

No problem on the spoiler. I usually don't wig out about spoilers anyway, but I'll admit this was kind of shocking. Having said that, it's not like anyone should expect anything less from Spartacus--not the most upbeat story. Looking forward to seeing it, but I'll be sad when it's done for me. I just wish Andy Whitfield would have been there for the whole thing.

Yep, we've all been waiting for the "Red Wedding" episode to finally happen and blow the minds of all the viewers who haven't read the books.
