    RIP Dingbat

    Jean Stapleton has passed...

Jean Stapleton, who played Archie Bunker’s long-suffering wife Edith in the long-running 1970s television series “All in the Family,” died Friday at her New York City home.
    Fresh, not from concentrate.

She was great in that show! If I can still cut my own grass at 90, I hope I live that long.

RIP Jean--very talented, I recall seeing her in musicals years before she did "All in the Family."

That show would have never worked without the balance she brought to it.

I remember seeing her and Carroll O'Conner reunited on Donny & Marie Osmond's syndicated talk show in 2001, shortly before O'Conner passed away. The only appearance they made together outside of All In the Family. Donny asked her to do the Edith Bunker voice, but she said no. She turned down the Angela Landsbury role on Murder She Wrote, BTW. RIP, Ms. Stapleton. Her and Carroll O'Conner were class acts.

                  Probably O'Connor's best performance.
