I know many were heartbroken when Universal Studios decided to do away with the Back to the Future ride in Orlando. Looks like the new ride will incorporate the Simpsons. We're already making plans for the opening of the Harry Potter park in the Islands of Adventure, but now maybe I can slip another trip to FL in between now and then. I'm told the H.P. park is going to have a complete Dumbledor's castle as well as several new rides. I believe they're going to convert the Fire & Ice coasters over to the H.P. motif also. Same ride, still dragons, new paint job I guess. Simpson's are slated to open in the spring. Anyone who goes make sure to post a review when you do.

I've never went to Universal Studios Orlando and seen the BTTF ride.
I've heard good things about it...
I can see they want to update their rides with the latest trend.......
But to me, Simpson's has been old-hat for over 10 years now.
The movie certainly didn't increase their current popularity.
Why would they choose Simpsons ? -- besides the fact they own the property -
I think the Men In Black ride is still there. Even though the movie is old news, the ride is still fun.
Unfortunately, my stomach can't handle the type of rides that involve a lot of jerking and moving in front of a screen so I passed when we were there last. I did ride the Jimmy Neutron ride just to see if maybe I had outgrown it but I was really sick to my stomach afterward.
The Shrek 4-D show was the best amusement at the Park (this was 5 years ago since we've been there)."The farther we go, the more the ultimate explanation recedes from us, and all we have left is faith."

I was more broke up over the demise of Kong. That was a fun ride. I really am looking forward to the Simpsons, and hope it also means the addition of a Krusty Burger to Universal. Didn't know they were getting HP land, tho. yeccckk. You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

The TV show is still on the air as we speak.
Plus---SIMPSONS is a syndicators' dream----one of the longest running
half-hour "sitcoms" of all-time with hundreds of episodes and
more to come (the movie aspect of the franchise is just icing on the cake)
For longevity in pop-culture it doesn't get much better than that."No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment

They should have just left the Back to the Future ride.
Simpson's is the most OUT of fashioned toon since Ren and Stimpy..
Hell, a HANK HILL PROPANE BBQ ride would probably be more popular

and longevity---and most importantly EXPOSURE ---your point is moot Mike
unless KING OF THE HILL could approach TWENTY seasons to go into
syndication or produce a movie that could feasibly gross $525,495,894
in box office around the world with a movie release
Bottom line? Hip or unhip----the SIMPSONS still has a big honking foot in
the door when it comes to generating revenue and is virtually guaranteed
to have that for a few decades to come---and, by 2020---they
can decide to replace the SIMPSONS ride with a KING OF THE HILL ride
if they choose--
And leaving the BTTF ride in the SIMPSONS ride stead???----thats just
your brand of silliness Mike----you can't possibly mean that"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment
