I know game shows are on their way out, but I just realized how much they annoy me. The bigger ones are probably bringing in a couple million a year and could care less about the contestants. They pretend to be excited when someone wins a thousand dollars. Yay! I think a nice twist to a game show would be the host doesn't get paid unless a contestant wins. They can't help them at all, but they sure would be into it a bit more, and the celebrations would be genuine. This just hit me as my wife DVR's Family Feud with Steve Harvey. He's pretty funny, but he deals with some pretty stupid people and the jokes pretty much tell themselves. Get this, if the family wins five days in a row they win a car. One car. For five people. One car. Yeah, I hate this version.

Game show hosts
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.
If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.Tags: None -
I watch the Game Show Network all the time. Reruns of old 80's shows. There was an episode of Match Game where the winning trip was to a hotel in Plymouth MA, that I pass all the time when I go to visit family there. It's near the Rock and all the historic sites but I would have been ****ed if I had been on that show and that was the prize I won.
I loved the early Press Your Luck shows (they changed some of the concept on the new version), tough to watch after Peter Tomarkin died though. It's not a doll it's an action figure. -
I can't watch the newer breed of game shows. Drew Carey schlepping his way through the Price is Right can't even compare to ol' Bob Barker. I think the classic hosts like Wink Martindale, Gene Rayburne, Peter Cullen, Allen Ludden...they were able to pull the funny stuff out of the contestants, to let the guests be the star of the show...these washed up "celebs" they have now can't do that, they don't know how to make the contestants funny. They only know how to make faces and hog the spotlight. Peter Marshall may have hosted Hollywood Squares, but Paul Lynde was the star.Comment

I love classic game shows! My all-time favorite is Match Game. We love you Gene Rayburn! I also miss some of the other classic hosts like Don Pardo, Wink Martindale, Chuck Woolery, Alan Ludden, Dick Clark, Bill Cullen, Bob Barker and of course, Monty Hall. I miss the old Wheel of Fortune, where you could spend your money picking prizes at the end. And during the Christmas season, they'd have kids on the shows. I love watching some of the prizes that were just so 70s. Yeah."Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."Comment
