It's like comparing the Beatles and the Beach Boys
I can't completely agree with that analogy, Mike.

The Beach Boys, while having a lot more parameters in their lyrics than the Beatles, I'd say that musically (compisitionally, stylistically) they were pretty deep with their choices... enough so that the Beatles stated a compettition with them and, to me, that essentially put the two bands on the same playing field artistically, while maybe a band like The Animals were of lesser artistic quality (not to open THAT can of worms!).

    I googled, and found this:
"The Beatles' 'Here, There And Everywhere' was inspired by this song. John Lennon and Paul McCartney heard Pet Sounds at a party and went back to Lennon's house to write it. Paul McCartney once called 'God Only Knows' 'The greatest song ever written.'"

I will concede that I don't know much about The Guess Who, so maybe your analogy runs closer than I'd know for that reason alone.
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix
