Just a FYI never order the large fries, the small fries always wind up being large fries at 5 Guys lol. We have gone to a place here in NYC called TBJ (The Burger Joint) we think its great!!! 9 pound burger for $76 15 pounds with all the fixings free if you can eat it yourself... But the burgers are grilled to order and the fries and onion rings are off the hook... The shakes are great too.

Five Guys and Steak and Shake are the best burgers I've ever had. I literally have a Smashburger next door to my store in my shopping center, but I do not go there. I got a free meal on their grand opening last year and I haven't returned. I'd have much rather had Big Boy than their dry meat sandwich. Hec, that sucks you didn't get a good one there. I've yet to have their equal.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

5 Guys is better if you eat it there rather than take it with you I think. Looks like you had it in your car or at least away from the restaurant.

One of favorites I think is Fat Burger. My daughter and I stopped at one in San Diego right off the beach when we were riding bicycles, and it was quite good.

Yeah, the problem with Five Guys is that they wrap everything in foil and, if you get it to go, you'll end up with a soggy burger by the time you get it home and unwrap it. I still like them, though.

I was going to eat it at the establishment, but it was nearly 90 degrees today, and that friggin' place had no air conditioning, it was hot as hell...so I went to the car...turned up the A/C...and ate it in there...the burger was fresh...right off the griddle.

Sounds like bad management, all the ones I've been in have the a/c kicking. And staying there is usually a better option since they all have the Coke Freestyle machines with about 100 flavors.

When you say mushy burger do you mean the whole thing is just sloppy ?

Or do you mean the patty itself resembles meatloaf more than a hamburger ?

I have heard good and bad reviews about 5 Guys here. There is going to be one opening up about 1 mile from me this summer so I might have to finally try it. It does look pretty good. On a side note, has any one eaten at Freddy's Steak Burgers? We had one open up a few months ago in my area but have yet to try it.

Freddy's is pretty good! It's better than SteakNShake and Culver's. Be sure to try their fry sauce!

                            Yes, Mike, sloppy.

The burger felt more like a sloppy Joe than a burger.

My wife's cousin works for 5 guys here in Canada. I find it just OK, a passable burger and a garbage bag full of fries. They made little to no concessions to the Canadian palate (no gravy, no poutine), which is weird because every other chain is catering now.

When I go there I actually get a hot dog because they're not easy to come by here.
