    I have digital cable...

To me it looks the same as regular old fashioned cable.

I dunno why everyone thinks it's so great.

All the digital cable provides is on demand and more channels.
To have improved pic etc, you will need a HDTV and then get a HDTV box from the cabe companyl

These boxes are good to have if the cable ever goes out and you need to watch your local channels over the air, on your old analog TVs.

I sent off for my $40.00 coupon 2 weeks ago

The only people who need the converter boxes are those that receive signals via an antenna on top of the house, or rabbit-ears on the TV. Anyone else who has any kind of cable or direct TV (regardless of how old your set may be) will be fine, and doesn't need the converter.

Well, you have to take in consideration that the cable may be out. If the cable went out during a tornado warning, or other emergency you would be up the creek. Till all my TVs are digital, I will invest in one of these boxes as a safety device.

I sent away for a couple of converter box vouchers as well. I think they said the vouchers are good for 90 days.
