Bradley Cooper seems like a good Steve to me.

Get the Big Show to be Bigfoot.

I use to think the Six Million Dollar Man could be redone. Now that I've had the box set for a few years and saw how they botched the Bionic Woman reboot, I feel different. The success of that show likely had more to do with the appeal of Lee Majors and Lindsey Wagner than it did the lasting appeal of bionics as a concept. And by today's standards it may even be considered quaint for modern audiences. There's so much they would have to do to amp up the intrigue, it would likely not have any resemblance to the original. And for some reason Hollywood thinks the slow motion interpretation for bionic speed is now dated. I disagree. It's a dynamic we still use all the time, especially in sports. And ironically that's where the idea came from. The producer's of the show were big fans of NFL films. But honestly they just don't make men like Lee Majors anymore. He carried himself with an old school style that was charming without being arrogant or overbearing to others. In short, he was a gentleman who was the epitome of "cool" without trying. And Lindsey was his all American sweetheart that everyone fell in love with. That was part of the chemistry that made the show so enduring. Hollywood would never understand that or consider it today.

The only actor I could see playing Steve these days is Daniel Craig.

As for Oscar....Lee Majors would be my choice.

WWE Wrestler, The Big Show could play Bigfoot.

John Saxon could still play Maskatron. He hasn't changed.

The opening song could be narrated by Richard Anderson.

                A remake wouldn't work for 2 reasons:

                1) I think MIB41 put it quite nicely. That classic magic couldn't be duplicated. All the CGI, and modern-day techno-babble would ruin it. This show relied heavily on imagination; the ability to let your mind go and take in all that was impossible, but adventurous and exciting. Movie and TV show producers would only try to amp it up for today's audiences. (see The New Bionic Woman fiasco)

                2) This wouldn't be like re-making a comic book character like Spider-Man or Batman. They're not real people, and almost anyone could take on their stories. But Lee Majors and Lindsay Wagner made the SMDM and the Bionic Woman who they are. They didn't try to live up to an original, established comic hero, they were the original heroes. They had a charm and style all their own. You just can't copy that.

Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

JJ Abrams would be my first choice to direct a Bionic Man feature, based on Kevin Smith's screenplay. Chris Pine(Colonel Steve Austin), Bruce Greenwood(Oscar Goldman), Jeff Goldblum(Dr. Rudy Wells), and Jennifer Lawrence(Jamie Sommers).

I have to disagree. I think a remake absolutely would work if done properly. If I had the money and ability, I'd do it myself. I have a very specific vision in mind for the film. First of all, I would set it in the same period as the original, because the technological limitations of the time are part of what made the original premise so fantastic, and the cold war tensions that fueled so much of the espionage themes no longer exist today. As far as FX go, I would show Steve Austin living up to his full capabilities, such as the fantastic high-speed running scenes from the opening credits. You would actually see him running at high speeds, chasing down cars, jumping over fences, etc without the obvious cuts and stunt doubles. I would also keep the bionics relatively low tech, just as they appeared in the original, circuits, exposed wires and all. My ultimate goal would be to pay homage to the original, while fulfilling the promise of the opening credit sequence, which is something I feel none of the original series episodes were ever quite able to live up to.
