      He wrote fun stuff.
      And I always thought the Howard the Duck movie got a bad rap.

          Well, the movie outright sucks -- but Gerber's streetwise, fowl-mouthed creation was far from the button-down doofus we got in the Lucas/Huyck trainwreck. The Marvel Howie packed heat -- and took no crap! And good Lord -- Thundarr the Barbarian? I didn't even know Gereber was involved with that. Steve Gerber was one of my favorite comics writers, and I'll mourn his passing.
