I'm sorry to hear this. I hope things get better soon.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

After two very long days, it is damp, but we no longer have any standing water in the basement! I still have soaked area rugs to cut, carefully removed from under the puzzle tables and haul out. My parents and sister and holding their own. Sadly, from State Police helicopter photos, it appears that my aunt and uncle have at least three feet of water on their main floor. They live in an elevated mobile home and it also appears that it could be shifting off the foundation. The river is expected to rise until Monday.

Happened to me during Hurricane Irene. SHe made her way up to New Jersey and left me with 3 feet of water in my basement. I know exactly what you are going through. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Might be a real good idea to get a dehumidifier running so nothing that is still in there absorbs any of the moisture that is in the air from the dampness.

The pumps are still running, and two extras are on standby for the rain today, tomorrow and Thursday. A damp basement is a huge improvement over a flooded one!
Enough water has dried up from the airstrip so that Ed could get out last night for a better look at the flooding.
My aunt and uncle live in the line of houses you can see right along the river in the middle of photo. :(
The "channel" that you see on the far right is new highway bypass construction. Nobody around here feels bad about that being flooded out.
And we are the red circle up near the top.
Supposedly, the river crested last night and even with the coming rain, is it supposed to continue dropping.
The water in my sister's back yard is still rising though. They have been using a backhoe to continually build up a berm.
