Explosions at Boston Marathon

There are some pictures on Twitter, it looks like several people were badly hurt.

News says 3 deaths so far, really unfortunate.

Very sad that an event like that was targeted (or a very bad coincidence, not sure if they've announced). I know a few folks there, one of them shared a picture on facebook and looks to be a few blocks away from the explosion and got a crazy picture.

Someone mentioned that there's talk of it being a pyrotechnic mishap- but that seems weird at over 4 hours into the marathon- unless they had something that didn't fire earlier and decided to go off later... Will be interesting to see

Northwest Cable News is reporting 2 dead and 28 hurt and the bomb squad has detonated a third device.

I just realized: Boston, tax day...could this be by some radical tax-nut? Not trying to get political at all, but it almost seems too coincidental.

They are in the middle of dismantling a third device at the Mandarin Hotel according to the news.

Sounding more gory as it unfolds. Reports of finding body parts, now a 4th device and both of them being supposedly dismantled.

I think the significance would be more around Patriots Day.

Apparently today is the 20th anniversary of Waco.

It's all speculation obviously...they are saying they have CCTV footage of a guy carrying a few backpacks in the area.

Yeah, 2 dead, 28 injured, and two other bombs disarmed. It's really, really sad. I also thought that today being Tax day might have to do with this, or it might be a coincidence. I've also read some comments with people blaming the Mandarin for inspiring this…I’m not even going to address that any further.

Crazy stuff- I work in the sport world and am heading to an event this weekend. We've got folks flying in who are going to be delayed and will undoubtedly have some cancellations.

Hopefully they find the party responsible, this kind of stuff is bad enough for the folks directly impacted by it, let alone the other whacko folks that see the publicity and attention and get an idea.
