    Hiding your eBay account

I am wondering if anyone out there can tell me if it is possible to block someone from looking at your eBay history (what was bought, sold, bid on, etc.)

I know you can block people from bidding on your auctions, but is there a way to stop someone from looking at the public part of your account?

Change your user ID and make your feedback private. Only use a snipe service to place bids for you.

It won't totally hide everything but it is the best I can think of to prevent others from looking at what you are doing.

I don't think it's possible to hide your selling and buying history. I know there are countries like Germany where because of privacy laws you can't view a person's past history.

Nah, I don't care if they see what I buy... I just want to avoid being harrassed in the future by a seller that I called on his stipulation that anyone paying with PayPal had to add 3% to the final price. At the end, he more or less said he was "Going to be watching my future auctions... Believe me..." as to threaten me for telling him he had poor business practices...

I do have another name set up on eBay, so I guess I will use that when I sell (which is hardly ever.)

Why do you care what he thinks is the first question I have unless you're planning on selling stuff and making people add 3% for using Paypal. If you're not then what's the big deal? Let him check all he wants if he's got nothing better to do with his time.

Personally I think it's wrong if a person wants other people to pay for a service that he is using. Nothing is free. That cost should be figured into his shipping and handling fee anyhow, not added after the fact. That's what handling means.

Nope, I wouldn't make anyone add anything, that's pretty a**inine if you ask me. I was going to bid on the model he was selling, but when I seen the "Add 3%" thing, I contacted him to ask why he had that when it violates eBay policy. I then checked the model again after I contacted him to see if he dropped the 3% thing, and since he didn't drop that condition (and in addition to he tacked a buck onto shipping) I didn't bid as a matter of principle. I contcted him to tell him that he lost a customer due to the poor way he handles business, and that's when he got all p***y.

Exactly, and I said as much to him. Apparently he doesn't care about doing things the "right" way.

Just block him as a bidder then.

He can watch all he wants and can't do a thing. Ignore any emails he sends you.
