Scott, I just read this, and I am releived to know things are looking positive. However I know there is a long road of recovery ahead, both mentally and physically. My prayers and thoughts are with you, your cousin, your family and all others touched by this tragedy.

        Weekend update:

MaryBeth had an up and down weekend. Friday night was bad as her fever climbed to 103. They managed to get it back down to 99 by Saturday. They decided not to remove the ventilator tube just yet. My family and I did go see her today and she was awake and responsive. She squeezed my hand and slightly smiled at me, which made me feel good. She was breathing mostly on her own but still had the tube and neck brace. She does have a broken collar bone and a couple of cracked ribs. We'll see what tomorrow brings. I'm going back after work.

I have to say thank you to all of you for the thoughts and prayers. Beleive me it does not go unnoticed or unappreciated to my family and to MaryBeths family.

Just an update about Devin, the young man who died in the wreck. According to his Mom, Devin was completely cut in half by the log trucks bumper. His upper body feel towards MaryBeth covering her with his blood (which made it difficult for paramedics to determine how badly she was injured) but also shielding her from the impact as well. Devon's funeral was today and was held at the high school they both attended. It happened during our bad weather today. Prattville had a tonando and sustained a lot of damage. I hope our member from there is ok.

        What a wild weekend.

Thanks Scott for the update! It's good to hear MaryBeth is alert and responsive. We'll continue to keep her in our thoughts and prayers. Condolences to the family of Devin.
