I just checked the map. I know Dan and Charlie live in that area. And I believe Austin as well. Hope all is well with them, their friends and families.



This stuff's got to stop. I know this is a complex problem but I'm just venting about it. It really has to stop.

Another sad tragedy.

Unfortunately, there are all kinds of things that happen on college campuses that never really make national news.

I graduated from the University of Maryland and although we did not have a school shooting I actually witnessed a person commit suicide in broad daylight. I was a freshman living on campus and remember it was a nice Spring day on the weekend.

I was out in the dorm courtyard throwing a lacrosse ball back and forth with my roommate when I heard a scream and looked around to see a female jump from an 8 story dorm in the courtyard to her death on the sidewalk below. It was one of the most horrific events I have ever witnessed but nothing that I think even made news outside the university.

Unfortunately, there don't seem to be any good ideas on solving the problem. Campuses are so open, it is so easy to walk onto any major university campus unnoticed. I heard someone in the news media suggest that they should allow some teachers and students to have gun permits and carry weapons with them to be a deterrent and be a first responder but I don't know if that would solve anything.

yeah it is sad. I was watching Nancy grace ( and I hate her mind you) and she was wanting to put metal detectors in all the buildings at major Universities. I graduated from Alabama and we had hundreds of entrances/exits and I couldn't imagine putting guards and metal detectors everywhere. If the cost wasn't high enough she is pushing for more cost involved. She is the most annoying person on TV ..behind closely Bill O" pervert.
