DVDtalk reviews Wizard Of Oz CED disc as a joke

I think I have shared before that as a teenager I wanted to have movies I could play and VHS/Beta/laserdisc were too expensive back then. But I scraped pennies together and got that RCA selectavision videodisc players with stereo sound. As a joke DVDtalk reviews the Wizard Of Oz disc (which I have) as if it was something new.

That was awesome! Back in the days before our first VCR, my dad bought a CED player, that was my first experience watching rented/purchased movies at home. About six months later, he realized the inherent limitations of the format, and traded it in for our first VCR. But for nostalgic reasons, I'll still have a soft spot for CEDs.

        Ha! That's pretty clever.

I will admit, I never knew these existed as a kid. Imagine my surprise when I found Superman:The Movie and Star Trek:TMP on these discs at a flea market when I was in high school (early 90s). I thought they were deluxe record albums at first!
