Bazinga! The Big Bang Theory Renewed

CBS has picked up The Big Bang Theory for a 7th season. Good news for us fans. Wonder if that elevator will ever get fixed.

I thought the show was renewed for several seasons last year?

I think as long as the actors and creators are willing to continue, CBS will. It's the number 1 rated network show, so they'd be stupid not to!

Me and the wife love it. A little racy for the kids, but that's what DVRs are for!

I can't see this show going any where soon. It's just fantastically written. Nothing complicated and just straight dumb humor and geeky nerd references. I'm sure the thought of 40 year old toy and comic nerds is not unbelievable. Especially on this forum. It's not like Kaley Cuoco is getting ugly any time soon and with her taking over for Shatner as the Priceline negotiator she'll be in the public eye for a while and that just helps promote the show as well. This show could go on for years. Gotta be great to get royalty checks for syndication before the shows even off the air.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

7th season already? Glad they renewed because its one of the few comedies left thats succesful and I like (i honestly dont understand the success of Two and a Half Men, I think its terrible) It's the only thing that could have replaced That 70s show as my favorite sitcom.

          Need more "unique" sitcoms.

^And unlike That 70s Show, it has yet to show signs of the usual deterioration in scripts, enthusiasm of cast, etc. Even before Topher Grace left, some of the plotlines on 70s Show were just nuts. Tim Reed as Hyde's dad was the jump the shark moment for me.

I'm not into this show, but crazyforbargains.com has Big Bang Theory pajama pants, if anyone is interested.

I've been getting nervous 'cos they seem to be dancing around the "add a cute kid" trope that's generally the hallmark of the end. They married off one set of characters, and another has discussed the point in passing a few times, so the idea's out there.

^I like that the characters have evolved and changed, but very organically. Leonard is much less neurotic, Sheldon is more socially adaptable (compared to the first few seasons), Howard is less of a letch. I think the show is written well enough that they've avoided the usual pitfalls of when shows try to "grow" the characters. And they actually managed to add two characters to the main cast (Bernadette and Amy Farrah Fowler) and not screw up the formula. No small feat.

I think the addition of the two added to the show considerably. I like that none of the characters seems to be left out of the mix.
