Expect Twinkies on the shelves this summer. Just with new packaging, and a new design. Not sure about the price however, though it will probably be the same.

Went to True Burger not long ago...and they have a large supply of Twinkies...they use them for their shakes, which are pretty damn awesome.

I bet all those idiots who bought them at high prices on eBay feel like even bigger idiots.

Agreed. Saw this coming and I bet all the news hoopla was planted by Metropoulos & Co.(Pabst) & Apollo Global Management, the buyers, so once Twinkies return to the market the demand will be ready with welcoming arms. They were the only two companies waiting to bid.

Looks like Ding Dongs and Ho Hos will be returning as well since they were part of the sale.

Wonder bread was sold off to the makers of TastyKakes so looks like they might continue as well.

In a way they never left as I've seen snack company and their mom clone them and the cupcakes. Also more interested in the pies as only Entenmann's make's a decent one and currently the other knockoff everyone stocking is lame. The somewhat shocking but probably good development to come out of this for me was that the Drake's name and snacks were sold separately. In this age of consolidation that was a surprise.

Mrs. Freshley's makes a good Twinkie knockoff. It has a little more vanilla than the original, and I may actually prefer it.
