    GPS Garmin battery life question.

I was given a Garmin nuvi 40 and even if I leave it to charge overnight the battery doesn't seem to last for more than 1 hour after continuous use the next day. I suspect this present was a re-gift or used anyway. Does this mean the battery is probably done with and needs to be replaced? I mean this thing should go all day on battery power before needing to be recharged.

Interesting... we got one a couple Christmas' ago... every time we use it I normally just leave it plugged into the cigarette lighter. Thinking about it though, I don't think ours held a charge very long either and why I started doing that.

I try to plug it into the lighter when I can but I am using it at work. The vehicles we use mostly have broken cigarette lighters. The Co. won't repair them because they say it's not a priority. I looked up some replacement battery options. I may just go that route.
