    free video editor?

Anybody can recommend some free video editor with the basic features?

I'd like to make some videos and I am looking for an editor like the one I had in my old computer, something that allows to mix short videos with photos and music. Hopefully someone in here might know best of a good one to download.

Thanks in advance for your help!

You all have a great Sunday!

    Hmmmm....

What's your OS? I thought newer versions of Windows came with a basic video editor.

      Thanks for the response, Don.

Well, this laptop has a few months, came with some windows thing but is now working with windows 7. I don't know much about computers, but in my previous computer (which unfortunately was also a windows) I had an editor that some broad installed with a disc. I think there must be some basic thing to download somewhere in the net but wanted to hear some opinion from users (if there are free editors at all).

Your computer should have Windows movie maker pre-installed. From my experiences its fine for low level editing such as home movies. You would most likely need a video converter if you wanted to upload to Youtube however.

I looked around and I did find this website BUT keep in mind I have not tested this one personally so I cant say how well it works or if at all. It was the only one that "claims" to be completely fee with no trial period that I have come across. If you decide to try it, let me know how well it works. http://videoeditingsoftwarefree.biz/

Thanks Figuremod73. I'm downloading it right away.
I have the videosoft converter, which is free and works very good with almost every video and audio format.
I just need some editor, and it seems my laptop doesn't have moviemaker.

You can grab an older version of Adobe Premier from Adobe themselves, with a good serial that's provided from Adobe. Same thing goes for a number of their older software include Photoshop CS2.

I thank you again for taking the time to find this, Figuremod73. I tried it, but would not recommend it. It was complicated, and slow, and didn't worked as I expected. Will just have to try something else.
