New NFL rule - Running backs can no longer lead with their helmet... WHAT?!

It's true. A running back can no longer take a hand off and run through the line leading with his helmet. Oh okay. So he runs with his head upright so when he gets hit, it snaps his neck? Can we go head and just take off the helmets and attach the flags.? This game is quickly being ruined.

Isnt it natural to slouch a little when running hard?

Lets just reduce football to madden football seasons. No players, coaches or real feilds. Just a few guys in their basements will play out the season for us. This will ensure no one gets hurt at all. I thought about reducing it to flag ,,but someone could slip and fall down,,or worse case ,someone could actually bump into each other. Wow that would be bad. I think this is best.

I'm all for safety, but this just sounds pathetic. Somewhere down under, there are rugby players just laughing as hard as they can.

The only change they need with the running backs is not allow them to grab the defenders facemask with out throwing the flag.
The next thing is there shouldnt be a flag on a defensive back when he hits a reciever helmet to helmet because most of the time the reviever is the one who causes the hit by bracing for the impact after the defender has left his feet for the hit.

Pretty soon everything will be replaced with Nerf stuff. Nerf footballs,Nerf helmets,Nerf pads and so on.

Get rid of the helmets altogether, let them hit each other like in rugby and Australian football, the game will retain its violent factor, but you can rest assure players will not be leading with their heads anymore.

They could also go back to the early leather headgear of yesteryear, again, still lots of violent hitting, even knocked out teeth, but no head injuries.

I just saw this on espn, I agree with all the comments. What is a back supposed to do on third and 1? lol just run fully upright, straight into the pile?

                    Yeah, this is just nuts.

All these running backs have instinctively been running with the head down since pop warner, like Damien said, it's gonna be an epic fail.

Athletic cup manufacturers rejoice. Adam Shaefter from espn.com is now reporting that running backs must now lead with their crotch.
