    School buses

    What prompted this thread:

Ok, so I have to babysit tonight, and the dad informed me that the older girl will have a car seat w/ her b/c her class is going on a field trip today. All the schools in this area have parent drivers that go on field trips, and drive the kids, so they need the car seats. Doesn't anyone ride a good ole' fashioned school bus anymore? I have this incredible urge to post "You're a Survivor", (but you'll just have to settle for the link) :

For those of you w/ kids, do they even ride on school buses for field trips, and heck, just going to school?

Maybe it's budgetary? My kids ride a bus for field trips and back and forth to school. I go on trips a couple of times a year.....the seats are like bricks!

I went with my eight year old on a field trip to a local museum last Friday. The class rode the bus to the museum but parents were not permitted to ride along. We had to take our own vehicles to the museum. My son loves to ride the bus as he is normally a car rider and does not normally ride one.
If I had only spent a tenth of the time studying Physics that I spent learning Star Wars and Baseball trivia, I would have won the Nobel Prize.

My kids don't ride the bus, but it's because we live 10 miles out of town, and I don't want them on the bus for an hour and a half at a time. So we drop them off, and my mother-in-law or one of us picks them up.

my kids take school busses for field trips and we have to pay a gas fee for each trip . Usually 5 bucks per kid on top of all admission fees. Weare magnet kids at our school as we didn't like the school we are zoned to. The bus would pick up our kids at the zoned school and take them to the magnet school and then drop off them off at the zone school, but the distance is about the same so we pick them up at the magnet school.

My kids take the bus to elementary school and on field trips.
Too many toys. Not enough space!

The school where I work requires buses for field trips. Usually high school kids hate the bus. My kids attend the same school where I work so they've not had to ride the bus.
