Saw this last night and loved it. My daughter can't watch 3D movies so I may go see it again in IMAX. I thought this was going to be a tough one to pull off. They did an excellent job, even explaining how the Wizard had to stay in hiding until Dorothy shows up.

On a lighter note, the preview or the Lone Ranger looked pretty stupid to me. Iron Man 3 looks a lot darker than the first two.

It's not a doll it's an action figure.

^We got Iron Man 3, but no Lone Ranger trailer, which seemed odd.

Liked it okay. I thought the ending was really good, but it got a bit sluggish through the midsection.

I may be the only one here who was indifferent about it. While I was impressed with the visuals I thought the story itself was pretty flat, along with the performances of the main actors notably Mila Kunis. The best way for me to describe it is "Twilight in Oz." I went into this thinking I was going to see at least some of the whimsy that was present in the original film but only found it in bits and pieces here and there. Finley and China Girl stole every scene they were in should have been elevated to larger roles as should have the Winkies and Flying (not)Monkeys. I loved some of the subtle references to the "future" adventures in Oz but Disney was bound by several restrictions and had to tiptoe around some of the iconic imagery (see Flying (not)Monkeys).
My eight year old enjoyed it for the most part but was not nearly as impressed as he was with "The Phantom Menace" last year.
If I had only spent a tenth of the time studying Physics that I spent learning Star Wars and Baseball trivia, I would have won the Nobel Prize.

Just got back from seeing OZ. It was GREAT! I loved how it had nostalgic feel to it. I wanted to jump inside that storm and live the scene myself. Unfortunately though we didn't get to see it in 3D or IMAX. Disney really did The WOZ some justice with its art direction and special effects. Well worth the money and time!
Seen the previews for Star Trek: Into Darkness, The lone ranger, and Iron Man 3. All Three look really good too. But I'm mostly getting antsy for the new Star Trek .

Watched it in 3-D with my wife.We both enjoyed it.
Did anybody else notice Bruce Campbell as one of the winky guards?
Visuals were stunning and really worked well for the ending.
