I'm really excited to formally announce that Shadowland Magazine has been picked up for national distribution and is now being sold at Barnes & Noble and other bookstores, newsstands and comic shops.
As many of you know, I've been Shadowland's full time cover artist since issue #1, and within the first year and a half circulation has tripled! Last year Shadowland receive a Rondo Award nomination for best magazine and I was even nominated for best magazine cover alongside great talents like Jason Edmiston, Rick Baker, and Daniel Horne.
I didn't win, but it was still an honor to even be mentioned among awesome talents like that who I've looked up to for years. All of that was trumped last night as I stopped by the local Barnes and Noble, and there sitting on the magazine rack next to Famous Monsters, Rue Morgue, Fangoria, etc was this...
It was just surreal to see that mag sitting there...my only regret is I wish my mom were still alive to see it.
She was an artist herself, and passed away 10 years ago. She never got to see me achieve anything with my art. But you guys are my extended family, and I love getting to share this very happy moment in my life with you all...thanks!
