Well, according to DC Comics since 1986 (the year John Byrne rebooted Supes in Man of Steel), heat vision DID work, as thunderbolt said.
Before that, in Pre-Crisis comics, Superman's hair magically didn't grow anymore than it was supposed to under a yellow sun. So the Earth-One Superman could have never sported the Super-mullet we suffered through in the 90s.
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."
If Green Lantern's power is hampered by the color yellow, is it not possible then for the kid from a Christmas Story with the yellow eyes to kick the crap out of him?
Actually, if he uses a Red Sun lamp, he could cut his hair, shave and procreate as a normal human. Lois would have to gestate her child under the red lamp as well, presumably.
When Supes has sex with a gal - to her is it like doing it with a lead pipe ?
Also, while having sex does he feel anything down there ?
Seems he shouldn't
Remember the Will Smith movie "Hancock"? It was based on a very odd script that addressed the psychological effects of a 'superman' physically being separated from normal sexual relationships. The original title was "Tonight, He Comes" (yeah, that double meaning was on purpose), and it was supposedly much darker, grittier and probably 'R' rated before Will Smith signed up. There's a bit of the original left - there is a scene where Will Smith's character ejaculates through the roof of his motor home - but obviously the movie is not focused on that.
Anyway - if interested I found a brief article here:
