I'd say I topped out my Mustang in the 85-90 range on my way to work one day. I wasn't late or anything, but the weather was nice and traffic was light. However, I got to a point where the car's handling felt different, so I backed it down. 80 is fast enough for me.

I've made it a point to peak out every vehicle I've ever owned just to see what it would do. I think the fastest was like 135. Didn't really think anything about it. I was young and indestructible. I'd probably still do it if A. I got a new vehicle and B. had a straight stretch to give it a go.

Like you guys, it was back when i was 19-20. I got a 77 roadrunner up to 120. When it started to shake, i no longer felt in control, like even a pebble could have sent me off into the guardrails.

123mph in 1971 pontiac lemans, it was cruising fine and smooth! When I realized I was going that fast I dropped it down and ducked off the GSP. It was fun, never went past 110mph since.

I rented one of those too, those were 2006 GT-H's by the way. I drove mine to the Shelby shop in Las Vegas and broke the tires loose behind their shop, LOL...

I drove 110 in my '78 Camaro Type LT on a back road in Forest Grove. The car started to handle poorly and I had to slow it down.

The fastest I've every personally driven is a little over 100 on the highway in SW Michigan.

A couple of years ago on a Saturday morning in Chicago, my buddy took me for a spin in his Ferrari 360. On the expressway we hit 114, in traffic. He went from 70 to that speed in the blink of an eye. Unbelievable acceleration in that thing. I'm still trying to unclench my cornhole from that ride, though.

Last year, my same buddy took me for a spin in his Maserati (must be nice to be a corporate lawyer pulling down nearly 7 figures) and we hit a little over 120 on the expressway on the way home at about 2 in the morning when no one was around.

I'll be honest, though, after being in a really bad car accident at age 21, I've never been a fan of traveling at high speed in a car. I'm fine sticking in the 75-80 mph range at the most while on the highway.
