Just finished the Top Gear episode where they tried to go 150 MPH was wondering what's the fastest you've ever been. My top speed was 115 , and could feel every bump on the road. Whats your fastest?

I know I quartered at 11.27 at 121. I've been at 130+ on the open road, just going by the tach. -
112 in a 60 ...
97 in a 25

I hit 120+ once in my Datsun 240Z back when I was young and stupid...it was about 2am in the freeway, I picked a straight away...and you never guess who I was racing...another dude with a 240Z who happened to pull up besides me...I didn't even know this guy...it was all coincidental, lol.
When I hit that speed...my Z started vibrating a bit...I got a bit scared...and let go of the accelerator...the other driver kept going...so he beat me, lol.
On my present Mustang...I have never gone more than 85 mph...I gotta take care of my baby...plus I no longer feel the need for speed...styling and profiling at cruise speeds are cooler in my book now.sigpicComment

I used to drive/attend Ambulance on the Highway so I've buried the needle more than once,on the V-10 gas and diesels engines.
Even had police escorts once or twice it's nice to drive that fast legally...LOL“When you say “It’s hard”, it actually means “I’m not strong enough to fight for it”. Stop saying its hard. Think positive!”Comment

Before we sold our Mini Copper I got it up to about 110 on the freeway a few different times before shutting it down. Those things literally come up off the ground. It was fun but it only lasted a few seconds.

Pegged the needle in my old 69 vette vert....started bump steering.... any one tell you over 100 is not that fast, do it in a 40 plus year old car,with the top down on a curvy road.
I have taken a bunch of old 60s cars up there....always great. We had a 95 vette vert with a 6 speed and a few mods and she could really get it....I ran out of speed limit and nerve long before I ever topped her out.
I miss those cars...now all the old car I own get worked on more than driven,I dont have the $ time or much desire to restore any more and I have 5 that need all three.
ps that should read how fast have you driven..?

120 in a Crown Vic police car...car chase went through four counties and ended with the other car crashing in a field trying to make a dirt road turn off...car rolled at least four times, twice end over end....then the guy jumped out of the car an took off running through the field.
Also did 120 in a rented 2005 shelby HERTZ mustang.....damn that was fun.Comment
