Seems I get to go to MegaCon for the first time the weekend of the 15-17th. I'll be helping my friends from Fantastic Toys again. They tell me MegaCon is much bigger and a lot better than FX ever was. We shall see. If any Megoheads are planning to come please look me up. I'll be there all 3 days. Really looking forward to it. I haven't been to any toy shows besides Mego Meet since FX ended.

never been to megacon, the entry price keeps me away. That year Austin came down to FX and we all met up was fun.You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

My MegaCon report. I personally thought it was good. Lots of people, artists, guests and toys. Perfect show for me. I saw plenty of Mego: 12" set of KISS, Lizard, Wonder Woman, Torch, 2-12" Spideys, Batmans, Chips, Trek and a nice lot of WGSH in nice looking repro boxes. ReMego was there: 12" & 8" KISS, Heroes, Venture Brothers, Dr. Who, Presidential Monsters, Lost, Mirror Kirk. I thought there was a nice mixture of vintage and newer stuff. Lots of people with statues and DCUC and Marvel Legends. And of course a ton of comics.
The guest starts were great with the entire cast of ST:TNG including Yar and Q. Plus stars from Harry Potter, Farscape and more. I'm not familiar with most of the artist who were there but I do know about Neal Adams. It wa great seeing all of his work. He had a crowded table all weekend.
And to top it off I got to spend some time talking to Jonathan and see his really cool customs. I did buy a minty mint T1 all original Superman for $40. I haven't bought a real Mego in ages and this one just called to me.
All in all I had a great time and might try to hit it again next year. Now it's back to the grind and to getting orders out.sigpic WANTED: Boxed, Carded and Kresge Carded WGSHComment

Scott,
My husband and I hit MegaCon on Friday. Sorry I missed you.
Picked up a busted knee 12 inch TMP Klingon for $6. He was complete except for the phaser. Picked up an incomplete Eternia playset (missing track and connections), a 12 inch Joe Adventure Team ATV and a buttload of Mego Clown-Arounds for $75. Picked up a handful of LJN Thundercats baddies too.
There was a lot of older stuff, but nothing like the good old days of FX. Those were Toyriffic!
Neal Adams left me cold. He was selling his autograph.
Artwork, I understand... but to charge to sign your book is a bit iffy.
And if you wanted a picture of him signing your book, another fee.
Other artists obviously thought so too since I saw a ton of signs at the artists' tables saying "Amanda Conner (or whoever the artist is) is HAPPY to sign your books"... pretty much saying, "ya, we're not gonna charge you to sign, guys."Last edited by LadyZod; Mar 27, '13, 5:01 PM.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
